The club Herning Motor Sport ran through the years 1956 to 1965 a speedway located at the small village Sinding near Herning in Jutland.
The meetings were always characterized by many riders in many different classes. Often there were 5 or 6 riders in the heats, which made it difficult to compare the points earned from one meeting to another. Many times the results got calculated by the fastest winning time or the lowest sum of two winning times out of 2 or 4 heats.
The number of attending fans varied, but seldom below 3.000 and up to approx. 10.000, when the club signed international top riders like Barry Briggs (NZ), Ove Fundin and Rune Sörmander to meet the Danish Champion Arne Pander.

April 27. 1958 International meeting:
This meeting with a line up starred by World Champion Barry Briggs (NZ), Arne Pander (DK),
Rune Sörmander (S), Evert Andersson (S), Cyril Brine (GB) and Cyril Maidment (GB) claimed the attention of no less than 10.000 speedway fans. And they got value for money.
Barry Briggs
Rune Sörmander and Cyril Brine had a clash which sent both of them crashing into the fence. Both escaped unhurt.
Also Evert Andersson an Cyril Maidment had a clash, which affected Andersson’s performance for the rest of the day. Finally the Odense rider Svend Nissen fell and injured a couple of ribs.
The many crashes was said to be caused by the track width, which was not enough for six riders gating abreast.
Subsequently the organizers decided for future meetings, that only four riders would be at the gates
Cyril Maidment
Arne Pander was in great form. He won all his four heats ahead of Briggs and got the fastest winning time of the day, 1,14,6 min.
